Nimba United Struggles For Premier League Title Drags Barrack Young Controller 1-0 |

As the cellcom sponsored LFA 2011/2012 premier league continues, Nimba United popularly known as the mountaineers dropped second on the premier leahue table following their 1-0 win over the Barrack Young Controller on Sunday, August 5, 2012.
The match which spectators termed as competitive was played at the Nimba County’s Sports Stadium in Sanniquellie City bringing together over two hundred spectators.
The game which was played under a good atmosphere saw some spectacular displays by the Barrack Young Controller so as to maintain their premier league first place but fell unproductive. In the first half of the match, the mountaineers grab more chances but missed all goal opportunities thus ending the first half with a goalless draw. Nimba united came back from the break with more pressure displaying impressive football on their home ground.
The lone goal of the match came in the 84th minute by Bill Zoegar wearing the number two jersey for the mountaineers from a sunny boy Dolo’s pressure who came on the pitch in the earlier minutes of the second half.
It can be recalled that Nimba United two recent home games ended with the mountaineers defeating both watanga FC and Monrovia Club Breweries 1-0 and 2-1 respectively.
Nimba United have presently finished second on the table with 45 points tie with LISCR FC who has also finished on top as the result of goal difference. Barrack Young controllers are third on the table behind rival Nimba United one point.
