Defeated representative candidate of Montserrado County District # 13 during the October 11, 2011 general and legislative elections, J. Sando momolu, said there is a need that the ruling Unity Party (UP) reconcile with opposition political parties in the interest of peace.
Mr. Momolu said through reconciliation, there will be peace and harmony among Liberians to bring developments through the pouring in of investors into the country. According to him, the ruling party has done nothing wrong to the oppositions, but noted that after elections in a democratic country, it is necessary for the citizens to come together and work with whoever elected in order to move the country ahead. Mr. Momolu also noted that based on results coming from international observers, that the 2011 elections were free, fair and transparent; Liberians need to also accept the results and uphold the law of the country. According to him, some problems of Liberia today do not come through electoral processes, but by Liberians who have failed to reconcile themselves, who do things for individual interests rather than the interest of the country. He noted that dictatorship practiced by leaders, especially African leaders is not helpful in the society. |
