Pamela Anderson, best known for her iconic roles in Baywatch and Home Improvement, is set to release a memoir entitled Love, Pamela. In this book, she makes a shocking allegation against Tim Allen — that while they were filming the pilot of Home Improvement in 1991, he exposed himself to her.

Anderson was 23 when she joined the cast of Home Improvement as Lisa “the Tool Girl” opposite Taylor and was just beginning her acting career after being featured in Playboy and other magazines as a model. According to Anderson’s account of the incident in her book, she walked out of her dressing room to find Allen standing there wearing only a robe. She stated: “He opened his robe and flashed me quickly – completely naked underneath. He said it was only fair because he had seen me naked. Now we’re even. I laughed uncomfortably.”

When contacted about Anderson’s allegations, Allen stated: “No, it never happened. I would never do such a thing.” The show ran for eight successful seasons from 1991-1999 before ending with Anderson leaving after season two to focus on Baywatch, which went on to become a syndicated hit.

Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee’s stolen sex tape, released without their knowledge in 1996, created one of the most notorious scandals of that decade. As her career was still fledgling at the time, this incident had a dramatic effect on Anderson, not only professionally but personally as well. In Anderson’s memoir – which she wrote herself – she uses poetry and narrative to express how this scandal shattered lives.

Anderson described her book as a “celebration of imperfections” that recounts the story of “just one girl’s messy life.” She continued, “These are my feelings about my life – no ‘woe is me,’ though sometimes they are tough. I was able to get through it all by finding love in grace and dignity along with humor, acceptance, and forgiveness.”

A documentary based on Anderson’s life entitled Pamela: A Love Story will also debut on Netflix at the same time as the release of Anderson’s memoir. It will be interesting to see what else is revealed within Anderson’s story when both projects are released at the end of January 2023.
